Print Design
Layout design was a passion of mine in high school. I learned the principles of layout design from designing pages for the yearbook. I didn't take any formal courses in graphic design. Everything I learned about designing in print, I learned independently.

My first brochure was created in 2000, which was Maria Margaritis. I had no layout program so I created it in Illustrator. I didn't learn QuarkXpress until I was asked to design the Winsome Murphy cookbook in 2004.

When a pet products company offered me a job, my duties were broken down to 80% print, 20% web design. This was the first time I ever held a swatch book in my hand! Projects consisted of store flyers, magazine ads, store signages, huge posters, decals (fleet graphics) and brochures. Other than paper with a 4-colour print job, I didn't have much experience designing for various media types. In time, I learned the ropes mostly independently because I didn't have a mentor.
