HTML, JavaScript
I believe in a pure clean coded web page. I've been allergic to WYSIWYG (what-you-see is-what-you-get) editors. My first-term web design instructor, encouraged our class to code our pages by hand. Until this day, I remain true to this practice. I still use Homesite and I'm glad that Dreamweaver added a code-view option a few years back. There's nothing worse than a messy coded web page.
I was also fond of rollovers. Dreamweaver could do this for anyone automatically, but I learned JavaScript because I wanted to add rollovers to my pages. Aside this and the basic window commands (open, close, print), they were sadly the only things I knew how to do. I needed more so I took a course in JavaScript introduction at a local university. It was all I needed for a foundation, and other more advanced techniques, I could learn on my own.
